The running-in of the diesel generator set can be divided into two types: cold running-in and hot running-in.
1. Cold running-in
Cold running-in means that the diesel engine is operated on the testbed through the dynamo or other type of power to drive the bent axle, reaching the aim of the running- in of the linkage mechanism of the bent axle, valve timing mechanism and other clearance fit. In this process, engine oil with small viscosity should be used. In addition, conduct failure checking to the diesel generator set to see whether there is abnormal sound, scuffing of cylinder bore and air leakage.
2. Hot running-in
Hot running-in means that after installing and carefully checking the diesel engine, run the machine, and through zero-load and load test, further check and adjust the dynamo, making it have excellent dynamic property and economical efficiency.
